Beneath the stars

tonight heavenly eyes watch

as I search my soul,

my sins are ocean deep,

and I drown

and I climb a mountain steep,

who will listen to my prayers

as I lay them down in layers?

tonight I shed my skin

to be reborn.

I’ve never been myself before,

but tonight beneath these stars

I heed the call
